I’m pleased to tell you that about a year after I was at this dairy farm, they shut down. I don’t know where 366 and her dairy sisters ended up, but I’m sure it wasn’t a sanctuary. Although the closing of the dairy farm didn’t help them lead better lives, it is a step toward a more compassionate world. Over the last 5 years, the number of U.S. dairy operations has declined by approximately 15% to 20% (2021–2026), according to agricultural analytics.¹
